Read what some of our satisfied Pilates clients have to say…
“I am a 63 year old male and I have been a regular at Westport Pilates for over 6 years. Pilates was first recommended to me for lower back issues that were incapacitating me increasingly as I got older.
Now I live a very active life and have greater strength and flexibility than most middle aged men I know. My back has not “gone out” in years. I don’t get many of the aches and pains I used to have. My body feels and looks good. I have more strength, flexibility, balance, body awareness and confidence in movement.
I have worked with several of the instructors at Westport Pilates and they all are knowledgeable and excellent instructors with something special to teach. I have taken private lessons and classes of all sizes and they are all a part of my regimen. Pilates is hard work, but the instructors can make it fun and have motivated me to keep working.
I like to say that Pilates has given me back my life.”

I am fortunate enough to be able to train with Marcelo and Cait at Westport Pilates using Gratz equipment, especially on the new archival reformer. Since Westport Pilates is a Gratz studio, I have noticed a dramatic increase in my strength, control, and personal satisfaction. I can feel the care and precision in the craftsmanship while using the Gratz equipment. It’s a great experience and I look forward to every every session.

“Each session at Westport Pilates offers a unique and challenging approach to how my body feels on a particular day, focusing on my core strength, posture, and lengthening. The studio is immaculate, the staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is a welcoming sanctuary for mindfulness and hard work. Whether I’ve taken a private, a duet, or a mat-based class, I walk into each session one person, and out a stronger, taller, more centered and mindful one.”

“The biggest testament I could possibly give to Westport Pilates is that I Keep coming back! The day I met Cait, I told her that I loathe exercise. I can’t begin to tell you how many gyms I’ve joined and not attended. This is different. The studio is immaculate. Sessions run on time. I am making progress and I am not afraid that I am going to get hurt — because the instructors are always paying attention to my form. I am stretching and toning, controlling my movements and I feel so much better. I recommend Classical Pilates and moreover, Westport Pilates.”

“I gave pilates a try as the ultimate skeptic. I was 15 years post spinal fusion and Harrington rod placement for scoliosis, and was starting to experience back stiffness and achiness on a daily basis. But I had never formally exercised in my life and could not muster any enthusiasm to start. Now, 17 years later, I can honestly say that practicing Pilates twice a week has changed my life. I am free of pain and physically strong, and while I would still rather read a book than break a sweat, I am so glad I took that leap of faith and tried it. I truly cannot imagine where I’d be today without it.
Cait has been my teacher through the whole journey. She is passionate about Pilates, and her passion is absolutely infectious. As a former dancer with a powerful and palpable connection to her own body, she combines her knowledge of Pilates with a solid understanding of anatomy and the mechanics of movement, along with uncanny powers of observation and with patience, gentle encouragement, and unending energy and positivity. She listens, she dialogues, she masterfully demonstrates, she appreciates feedback, she researches and she always strives for deepening knowledge and execution. I am convinced that at this point she knows my body better than I do!

There are so many things about Pilates that I love. I am always inspired by the brilliance of the method, the “low tech” but very distinctive equipment, the deep passion, intelligence and high expectations of my teacher, the continual challenge, how wonderful and connected to my body I feel after a session and how increasingly this has extended from minutes to hours to days. I have a constant awareness of how I move through the day now, of my core strength, of my breath, of how I am sitting in the car, of the need to release muscle tension and to move more adaptively and to defeat bad posture. I love the nuances of Pilates and noticing how the smallest bodily adjustments make all the difference. And of course I love being pain-free.”

“To me, Pilates is like… breathing. Booked my first appointment seven years ago. Looking back, I can’t imagine the way I would feel if I hadn’t made that move! It has provided both mental and physical strength and flexibility as well as inner peace. I attribute this not only to (Joe) Pilates but to the instructors at Westport Pilates who interpret the method and ideology and carry it out on a daily basis.”
